The Boundless blog is a collection of unique voices addressing the issues young adults care about right now – everything from dating and faith to current events.
Each year during Easter week, I try to intentionally carve out space for extra reading, thinking, meditating and praying about what Jesus accomplished for us through His death and resurrection. While I try to think well during these times, my primary goal is to stir up stronger feelings and affections. Even as the Scriptures instructs us to:
*love and serve God with all our heart and soul (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)
*be zealous for good works (Titus 2:14)
*delight ourselves in the Lord (Psalm 37:4)
*let God be the desire of our souls (Isaiah 26:8)
*rejoice and be glad (Matthew 5:12)
In a sense, I want to be wrecked again by the high price Christ paid to atone for my sins and to overflow with love for and faith in our Savior.
This year, I've been reading through John Piper’s short book Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die. Piper offers 50 biblical reasons why Jesus died for us. Even a cursory read of the chapter titles can be very inspiring, but the book – which is available as a free PDF – offers two-page explanations of all 50 statements. This Easter, take time to meditate on all Christ accomplished for you through His death and resurrection. May a deeper knowledge, faith and love be yours in Christ Jesus.

Hadn't come across this book by Piper before...great to have the free PDF! Thanks!
"be zealous for good works" (Titus 2:14)
Love this verse! Thanks!
"For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He suffered death and was buried."
Good Friday, everyone.
So cool!! Love it! What an AWESOME God we serve!!
Seeing that I'm a little ahead of most Boudless members, by reason of the dateline... let me wish you a Blessed Easter.
I'm reading through this now, thanks for the link to PDF! I'd read it before at a Bible study years ago, but it's such a good read. Really clears cobwebs in my soul and makes me want to be closer to Jesus^^
This looks really good, definitely going to download it! I also like the encouragement to spend the week of Easter thinking more about the cross. It seems especially bad to be distracted from our "first love" on the week when Christ gave everything for us. But it's so easy to let the week go by, without a plan to focus more on Him. Thankful for a few more hours today to do that :)
Hope everyone had a blessed Easter!
